BATON ROUGE — The LSU Baseball Coaches Committee and the Tiger Baseball Alumni Foundation are teaming next month to host the annual LSU Baseball Alumni Weekend.
The event begins with the Coaches Committee golf tournament at Noon on Friday, February 4 at Pelican Point in Gonzales, La., and it concludes with the Alumni Game at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 5 in Alex Box Stadium.
The Alumni Game matches the 2005 LSU squad against a team of former Tiger players who are currently active in professional baseball.
Tickets to the Alumni Game may be purchased in the LSU Athletics Ticket Office by calling (225) 578-2184.
Prior to the Alumni Game, the YMCA Baton Rouge Kids’ Baseball Clinic will be held from 9 a.m.-Noon in Alex Box Stadium. The event is a free instructional clinic conducted by an All-Star list of current and former professional players, scouts and coaches. Autograph and photo opportunities will be available following the clinic.
The golf tournament, which will use a four-man scramble format, is open to LSU fans and former Tiger players and coaches. The entry fee is $150 per person and includes green fee, cart, golf shirt, a photo with LSU coach Smoke Laval, food and beverages, and a chance to win valuable prizes.
Sponsorships, which include signage at the course, are also available for $250 per hole.
A party for the golf participants will be held after the tournament at Walk-On’s Restaurant on Burbank Drive in Baton Rouge.
