Lady Tigers Tennis Remains Ranked No. 23

BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis team remained at No. 23 in the latest ITA poll released Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers are off to a 4-0 start for the eighth consecutive year. They swept in-state schools Centenary, UL-Lafayette, Southeastern and Southern to earn the victories.

This marks the 10th straight poll in which the Lady Tigers have been ranked in the Top 25, dating to when they debuted at No. 25 March 23 of last year.

The top-10 teams all stayed the same except for Tulane moving down a spot to No. 10 and previously 11th-ranked Texas breaking into the mix at No. 9. Stanford kept its No. 1 spot and Southeastern Conference schools Florida and Vanderbilt remained at Nos. 2 and 6, respectively.

Other SEC schools in the Top 25 include Georgia (No. 13), Kentucky (No. 14) and Tennessee (No. 18), who all stayed in the same spot since the last rankings.

The Lady Tigers will face their first top-100 team of the season Sunday. They travel to Rice, who catapulted from 67th to 53rd after a 3-0 start.
