LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Martel Campbell, a freshman on the LSU men’s tennis team, was chosen to receive the United States Tennis Association’s top award for junior player in his region, the USTA announced Monday.
The Santa Ana, Calif. Native won the 2004 Evelyn Houseman Junior Sportsmanship Award for the Southern California section.
Campbell will play in his first match as a Tiger tomorrow when LSU faces three in-state opponents to kick off its season.
