BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A total of 33 LSU student-athletes were named to the 2004-05 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive announced on Friday.
The Tiger football team topped the list of teams with members on the Honor Roll, placing 18 members on the list, including Academic All-American Rudy Niswanger, 2004 Sugar Bowl MVP Justin Vincent and 2003 Freshman All-American LaRon Landry.
In addition, 11 members of the women’s soccer team made the list, including Academic All-American and SEC Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year Chelsea Agar, and All-SEC selections Artie Brown and Stacy Bishop. Four members of the Tiger volleyball team also made the Honor Roll, led by All-Louisiana selections Regan Hood and Ivana Kuzmic.
A total of 441 student-athletes were named to the 2004-05 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll. The University of Florida and the University of Kentucky topped the list with 48 student-athletes on the fall academic roster each. Vanderbilt University was next with 41 honorees.
The 2004-05 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2004 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
