BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team was ranked 12th in the nation when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released their first team poll Tuesday.
Several players were also recognized after what was a very successful fall season for the Tigers. Sophomore Ken Skupski was ranked 12th in the singles poll and was 13th in the doubles poll with partner Mark Growcott.
Senior Jason Hazley also appeared in both polls. Hazley was No. 84 in the singles poll and 34th in the doubles poll with sophomore Danny Bryan.
Nine Southeastern Conference teams were ranked in the top-25, including three in the top-10. Florida and Georgia were No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, followed by Ole Miss at No. 6.
The Tigers begin play tomorrow in the SEC Coaches’ Indoor Championships in New Orleans. Their first team match will be Jan. 29 in Baton Rouge.
