BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s basketball program, the Tiger Athletic Foundation and local television station WBRZ-TV and Pat Shingleton’s Coats For Kids are teaming up for a special ticket promotion for Saturday’s 8 p.m. game with Northwestern State at the Pete Maravich Center.
Fans are urged when they come to the game on Saturday for the 3-1 LSU Tigers to bring a new or used coat and donate it to the highly successful campaign for coats that the veteran local weather personality lends his name to every Christmas. In return for the coat, the TAF will provide two complimentary admissions to the LSU-Northwestern game. So everyone wins as LSU fans can receive free tickets by helping someone stay warm this winter.
“It’s an outstanding program that Pat Shingleton has worked tirelessly on for many years now and we are hopeful that many of our fans will take advantage of this opportunity to see the Tigers play Saturday and help the “Coats for Kids” program in the process,” said LSU men’s basketball coach John Brady.
Now in its 17th season, Pat’s Coats for Kids has donated over 140,000 coats in the Baton Rouge area.
Also, Saturday prior to the game there will be a clinic for young dancers put on by the Tiger Girls, the basketball dance group. Information and registration forms can be found at www.LSUsports.net by going to the Tiger Girls section of the web site.
The Northwestern State game is one of just two home games for LSU in the month of December. LSU hosts McNeese State on Monday at 7 p.m. in the month’s other home game.
