BATON ROUGE — LSU continued its climb back up the Bowl Championship Series Standings on Monday, moving from No. 13 to No. 11 in this week’s edition, which was released by the National Football Foundation.
The Tigers, who are ranked No. 12 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll and No. 13 in the Associated Press poll, closed out their regular season with a 43-14 win over Arkansas last Friday. The Tigers, winners of six straight, will take a 9-2 overall mark into a bowl game.
LSU’s current BCS average of .5871 puts the Tigers less than a point out of eighth place in the BCS standings, which is currently held by Boise State with a .6510 average.
Southern Cal remains No. 1 in the BCS standings with a .9834 average, followed by Oklahoma (.9611) and Auburn (.9342).
