BATON ROUGE — LSU continued its steady climb back up the Bowl Championship Series Standings on Monday as the Tigers are No. 13 in this week’s edition, which was released by the National Football Foundation.

The Tigers, who are ranked No. 12 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll and No. 14 in the Associated Press poll, jumped three spots from No. 16 to No. 13 in this week’s BCS Standings. LSU’s BCS average this week is .5059.

Southern Cal remained No. 1 in the BCS standings with a .9789 average. The Trojans are followed by Oklahoma (.9642), Auburn (.9356), California (.8504), and Texas (.8301).

Other Southeastern Conference teams in the BCS standings include Georgia at No. 8 with a .6296 average and Tennessee at No. 15 (.4774).

The Tigers, 8-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play, return to action on Friday as they travel to Little Rock to face Arkansas. Kickoff for Friday’s contest is set for 1:40 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium. CBS will televise the game to a national audience.
