PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — Two LSU singles players and one doubles team earned spots Friday in the semifinals of the SEC Fall Coaches Classic.
Lauren Seaman beat Nika Koukhartchouk of Ole Miss in three sets to earn her spot in the semifinals. She dominated the first set but lost the second. She bounced back in the third to win the match 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.
Staten Spencer also pulled out a three set match after falling behind in the first. She topped Melissa Cornett of Arkansas in the end, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4.
“Lauren and Staten both pulled out gutsy three set wins,” said LSU head coach Tony Minnis.
In doubles action, Marina Chiarelli and Camila Caliari won their match to advance to tomorrow’s semifinal round.
“Marina and Camila have been playing very well,” Minnis said.
