BATON ROUGE — LSU men’s basketball coach John Brady and basketball player David Fleshman spent part of Friday prior to the daily practice visiting with students at St. James Episcopal Day School in Baton Rouge.

Coach Brady and Fleshman talked with the students about being successful in academics and the importance of staying in school while juggling the many activities that take place outside the classroom. Fleshman is learning the day-to-day routine of college life as a freshman from The Dunham School in Baton Rouge.

The pair gave students posters and schedule cards for the upcoming season and tickets to allow some of the students to see the Tigers play in person later in the year.

The Tigers open exhibition play on Tuesday (Nov. 9) at 7 p.m. at the Maravich Center against EA Sports, an all-star team of former college players. The season opener is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 19, when the Tigers host the LSU Louisiana Classic at the Maravich Center. The Tigers take on Tulane at 8 p.m. that night as the finale of a first-round doubleheader that begins with Louisiana Tech and Louisiana Lafayette at 5:30 p.m. The losers (12:30 p.m.) and winners (3 p.m.) will play on Nov. 21 in the final round of the Classic.
