I’m proud of Chelsea Agar for receiving the Scholar-Athlete award. I know she has worked hard off of the field to do her best.”

Agar becomes the first LSU women’s soccer player to be honored by the SEC as its scholar-athlete of the year.
In addition, the Tigers had to played earn All-SEC honors. Baton Rouge native Artie Brown was named First Team All-SEC, while sophomore forward Stacy Bishop was a second-team selection.
Brown, who holds the school record for career goals and points, capped her LSU career with 40 goals and 92 points. As a senior this year, Brown led the Tigers and tied for first in the SEC with 14 goals. She also added three assists and totaled 31 points for the season.
Brown was a Second-Team All-SEC selection in 2001.
Bishop ranked second on the Tiger squad with nine goals and led LSU with seven assists for a total of 25 points. She ranks third in school history with 64 career points and she’s fourth in the LSU record books with 21 goals.
“Stacy an Artie got their awards for their offensive efforts, but that was also due to the team effort that was given,” said Fotopoulos. “Artie did her job and set the school record in both goals and points. Artie’s leadership led to a lot of her goals. Stacy making second team is a great accomplishment and we’re very proud of her.”
