BATON ROUGE — Senior Chelsea Agar was named to the 2004 SEC Soccer Good Works Team, the league office announced Tuesday.
The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for all 20 league sports. The Good Works Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
Agar, a Courtenay, British Columbia native, volunteers for many worthwhile events including the annual “Holiday on Campus” for children of LSU students, faculty, and staff, the “Halloween Boozar”, and the Christmas Toy Drive. She also spends time at the local hospital in the children’s ward and participates in soccer clinics for underprivileged children. Agar has a 4.0 grade point average in biochemistry and was named a 2003 Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-American. She was also a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member.
Artie Brown was the first Tiger named to the SEC Good Works Team last year.
