BATON ROUGE — Following Saturday’s 24-7 win over Vanderbilt, LSU climbed to No. 17 in the Associated Press poll and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll, which were released on Sunday.
The Tigers moved up two spots from No. 19 to No. 17 in the AP poll, while LSU bumped one spot from No. 18 to No. 17 in the coaches poll. LSU has now been ranked for 29 consecutive weeks in the coaches poll and for 28 straight rankings in the AP poll.
LSU, winners of three straight, stands at 6-2 overall and 3-2 in Southeastern Conference play.
Southern Cal and Oklahoma remained Nos. 1-2 in both polls, while Auburn is ranked No. 3 in both rankings after a 35-14 win over Ole Miss on Saturday.
The Tigers will enjoy their second open date of the season on Saturday before starting a three-game stretch of contests against Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas to close out the regular season.
