TO: Fans, Friends, and Supporters of LSU Athletics

FROM: Skip Bertman, LSU Athletics Director

It has been four weeks since we’ve had a football game in Tiger Stadium, and there’s no better way to return home than for Homecoming weekend. We welcome back all of our alumni and visitors to the LSU campus for Saturday’s game against Troy. I hope all of you will take time to enjoy the Homecoming festivities.

The campus is more beautiful than ever, and this weekend is a perfect opportunity to take a walk and see what makes LSU one of the most attractive universities in the country. On Saturday, Homecoming decorations will be up by 10 a.m., and at noon the annual Homecoming parade will roll from the LSU Systems Building through campus.

Don’t forget that we still have an active construction site on the west side of Tiger Stadium, so we continue to encourage you to go to your seat early.

Game time is 7 p.m. and we will crown our Homecoming king and queen at halftime. We hope you enjoy the weekend.

TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR OCTOBER GAMES
A limited number of tickets are available for LSU’s two October football games against Troy this Saturday and Vanderbilt on October 30. Tickets are only $36 each.

If you don’t have season tickets, this will be your last chance to see the Tigers in action as both the Alabama and Ole Miss games are sold out. If you already have season tickets, bring a young fan to Tiger Stadium and introduce him or her to the great tradition of Tiger Football.

Tickets are available online at LSUsports.net, by phone at (225) 578-2184, or in person at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ticket office will open Saturday at noon.

DON’T BOO … YELL TIGER BAIT!
Fans love traditions, so I hope you’ll help us bring back the tradition of yelling “Tiger Bait! Tiger Bait!” when the opposing team comes onto the field.

For some reason, sometime over the course of the last several years, it has become commonplace for fans across America to boo when the opposing team comes onto the field. Many of you have written to say we should bring back the old LSU tradition of chanting “Tiger Bait!” instead.

So, let’s be loud, proud and intimidating in Tiger Stadium on Saturday night, but let’s also be classy and unique in the great tradition of LSU football.

TIGERVISION IS BACK
We want to fill Tiger Stadium, but if you can’t be there you can see the game on TigerVision, LSU’s pay-per-view network. For only $34.50, you can have a tailgate party at home with your friends and watch the LSU-Troy game in your living room.

Residents in Louisiana can purchase TigerVision through their local cable television system or through The Dish Network or DirecTV. Residents outside Louisiana can purchase TigerVision through ESPN’s Game Plan package. The TigerVision pregame show starts at 6:45 p.m. Doug Greengard and former Tiger Greg Bowser will call the action for the telecast.

BASKETBALL FAN DAY IS NEXT WEEK
Come to campus early on the day of the LSU-Vanderbilt football game next week and get a preview of our men’s and women’s basketball teams at LSU Basketball Fan Day.

LSU Basketball Fan Day will be held at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Saturday, October 30, beginning at 1 p.m. You’ll see the men’s and women’s teams in action, meet the LSU Cheerleaders and Tiger Girls, win great prizes and get autographs from the Tigers and Lady Tigers.

Admission to the event is free, so bring the entire family. It will be a great tipoff to the basketball season, a chance to see two great basketball teams on the court, and a perfect start to a day of LSU sports.

BASKETBALL TICKETS
Don’t forget that season tickets are available now for both the men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

Men’s basketball season tickets are $186 each for a schedule that includes a four-team, all-Louisiana Tournament, non-conference games against West Virginia and Ohio State, and the always rigorous SEC schedule.

Women’s basketball season tickets are $75 each for a season that includes home games against SEC powers Tennessee and Georgia. You can also buy tickets to the Women’s Sports Foundation Classic to be held at the Maravich Center for only $25 each.

Get all the information on the coming season and buy your tickets at LSUsports.net. You can also buy tickets by calling the LSU Athletics Ticket Office at (225) 578-2184, or by going in person to the ticket office.

We welcome your comments, so write to us at LSUvision@etigers.net. Although we cannot promise a response to every e-mail we receive, please be assured that every letter will be read. Thank you for your continued support of Tiger Athletics.
