Soccer Faces Tough Road Test at No. 7 Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tiger soccer team will take on the no. 7 Tennessee Volunteers Sunday at noon at the Tennessee Soccer Stadium.

LSU (6-6-1, 1-3-1 SEC) has never beaten Tennessee (8-2-2, 5-0-0 SEC) in school history. Tennessee defeated LSU at home last year 3-0.

“Tennessee right now is undefeated in the SEC so we looking forward to going in and playing tough defense against them,” said LSU co-head coach Danielle Fotopoulos. “We want to stay disciplined and do our best to come away with a tie or get a 1-0 win out of them.”

Tennessee comes into the game off of a win against Arkansas at home, 3-1. The Volunteers are undefeated in SEC and their only two losses of the season came against a top ten team in Portland and an upset loss to Richmond at home, 1-0.

Artie Brown with 33 career goals is only three goals away from tying the career record holder Jackie Cooper who had 36 goals from 1995-1996. Brown also has 76 career points and is only six back of the all-time points record of 82, which is also held by Jackie Cooper.

The Tigers will spend the next weekend at home, as the Tigers will play Alabama on Friday at 7 p.m. CST and Auburn on Sunday at 2 p.m.
