BATON ROUGE — A day after posting the largest margin of victory in a conference game since 1969, LSU remained No. 13 in both national polls for a second consecutive week.

LSU’s 51-0 win over Mississippi State on Saturday marked the largest margin of victory in a league game for the Tigers since a 61-6 win over Mississippi State in 1969. It also marked LSU’s first shutout of an opponent since a 42-0 win over Mississippi State in 2001.

Southern Cal rallied for a 31-28 win over Stanford on Saturday to hold on to the top spot in both polls. The next four remained the same in both poll as Oklahoma stayed in second, followed by Georgia, Miami, and Texas.

Rounding out the Associated Press Top 10 is West Virginia at No. 6, followed by Ohio State, Auburn, Florida State and California.

The ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll had Ohio State at No. 6, followed by West Virginia, Tennessee, Auburn and California.

LSU is No. 13 in both polls, followed by Florida, who is ranked No. 16 in both polls following a 20-3 win over Kentucky on Saturday.
