BATON ROUGE — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranked several LSU players among the best in the nation Friday when it released its preseason poll.
Three LSU players were listed in the singles rankings, led by sophomore Ken Skupski at No. 18. Skupski was named first-team All-SEC last season and played No. 1 singles for LSU.
Peter Richman was ranked No. 87 and Jason Hazley was No. 107.
Two LSU doubles teams were ranked. Hazley and junior college transfer Mark Growcott were listed at No. 28. Richman and Skupski were No. 38 after going 13-3 in 2004.
The Tigers are opening their 2004-05 season this weekend at the Rice Crowne Plaza Invitational in Houston.
