BATON ROUGE — Former LSU volleyball standout Luciana Reis will appear on an upcoming episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show as part of a segment called “30’s Around the World”.
In a segment that will begin to air regularly, Winfrey will focus on women in their 30s that are successful and beautiful from various countries from around the world and highlight them once a week. Reis, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has recently been doing work in Hollywood and will be featured on one of the segments that will air around Oct. 13.
A four-year letterwinner from 1990-93, Reis was the 1990 SEC Freshman of the Year and SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player. She helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back NCAA Final Four appearances in 1990 and 1991 and four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
An outstanding defensive player, Reis still holds the LSU single-season digs record and career record for digs per game, while being ranked in the top 10 in career digs and service aces.
