BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s soccer team (2-0) will play in-state rival Tulane (1-0-1) Friday night at 7 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Complex. The Tigers are currently on a 17 game winning streak against non-conference opponents at home. Since George Fotopoulos has been at LSU, the Tigers have only lost once to an in-state school.

“This will be the third time we have played Tulane since I have been here and every game so far has been an epic game,” said co-head coach George Fotopoulos. “Every game has had great goal scoring and a lot of energy and physical play, and I am looking forward to the game.”

Last year LSU tied Tulane,1-1, in a game that went two overtimes. The Tigers had to play much of the game shorthanded. LSU is 2-3-1 all-time against Tulane.

The promotion for this weekend’s game will be the “Crash the Wave” beach party, and Rocket Fajitas will be catering the booster pavillion. Next week the Tigers will face Stephen F. Austin at home on Wednesday Sept. 8 before going to Ohio State for the Buckeye Classic.
