WIMBLEDON, England — Former LSU standout Daniel Kiernan will play in the Wimbledon Championships beginning next week with doubles partner David Sherwood.

Kiernan, a New Castle, England native, was an All-American doubles player for LSU in 2000. He is the first player from LSU to play Wimbledon since current Tiger head coach Jeff Brown did in 1991.

Kiernan is currently ranked No. 187 in the world as a doubles player.

Kiernan and Sherwood, also a Great Britain native, face Graydon Oliver of the United States and Dominik Hrbaty of Slovakia in the first round of the doubles bracket.
