BATON ROUGE — Steve Mares of the 2003 National Champion LSU football team will be speaking to the Dunham School Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Thursday from 12:40 p.m. -1:15 p.m.
Mares is a senior wide receiver on the football team who worked at both quarterback and wide out on the scout squad. The transfer from Santa Rosa Junior College came to LSU in 2002 and earned his spot on the team as a walk-on.
Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world. FCA is the largest interdenominational, school-based, Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference.
The Tiger football team will participate in the 2004 spring game on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. Tickets for the contest are currently on sale at the LSU Ticket Office or on the Internet at www.LSUsports.net for $5. Tickets purchased the day of the game will be $10.
