BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team jumped ahead one spot to 13th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll released Monday.
The Tigers (16-5, 7-4 SEC) were ranked fourth among SEC teams, but they enter this weekend’s SEC tournament as the fifth seed. Only Ole Miss (2), Florida (7) and Georgia (10) were ranked higher.
In addition, Kentucky is ranked No. 15, Tennessee is No. 17 and Vanderbilt is No. 21.
The Tigers’ doubles team of Bran Fisher and Jason Hazley rose ten spots to 16th after winning their last three matches at No. 1 doubles. LSU’s undefeated No. 2 doubles team of Sebastian Rutka and Cory Ross was ranked 44th.
Ken Skupski, a freshman from Liverpool, England, was ranked 30th in the singles poll.
LSU begins the tournament Thursday at 8 a.m. against No. 43 Alabama.
