BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis team was ranked 20th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll released Monday after an impressive weekend at the SEC Tournament in Nashville.
The Lady Tigers (18-7, 6-5 SEC) finished the regular season as SEC Western Division Champs. They advanced to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament for just the second time in tournament history before falling to second-ranked Florida, 4-1.
LSU was ranked fifth among SEC teams behind Florida, No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Georgia and No. 18 Kentucky.
Senior Jessica Ferguson was ranked 67th in the singles poll. Junior Amanda Mang was 122nd.
The Lady Tigers will try to keep their in-state record perfect for the tenth-consecutive season Friday when they host 12th-ranked Tulane at 5 p.m.
