BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — LSU junior Jason Horrell has been named to the first-annual Southeastern Conference men’s golf Good Works Team, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.
Horrell, a native of Martinsville, Ind., was a member of the 2003 SEC At-Large Sports Good Works Team and is one of 12 student-athletes named to the team, one from each school. Horrell represents the golf team on the LSU Student-Athlete Advisory Board, reads to elementary school children in the Baton Rouge community on a regular basis, and leads a toy drive on behalf of the golf team each Christmas.
Horrell makes regular hospital visits and assists with several other community service projects sponsored by the school. He was the recipient of the 2003 Academic Excellence Award.
