BATON ROUGE — LSU’s gymnastics team landed six student-athletes on the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll it was announced Monday by conference commissioner Mike Slive.
Based on grades from the 2003 spring, summer and fall terms, the SEC office recognized a total of 39 gymnasts for their academic accomplishments. Alabama and Florida led the conference as each had seven student-athletes honored. LSU and Georgia followed with six student-athletes apiece.
Tigers recognized were senior Lindsay Beddow, juniors Lauren Companioni, Annie Gagnon and Jade Jenkins and sophomores Kelly Lea and Terin Martinjak. For Beddow, Companioni, Gagnon and Jenkins it marked the second straight year they were named to the honor roll.
LSU, recent winners of the Central Regional Championships, returns to action this week, April 15-17, when it closes out the season at the NCAA Championships in Los Angeles, Calif.
