BATON ROUGE — The No. 20-ranked Lady Tigers (15-6, 6-5 SEC) will warm up for the SEC Tournament with a match against Southern on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
LSU, the SEC Western Division Champions, will leave Wednesday morning for Nashville, Tenn., where they will try for their first conference tournament win since 2000.
The Lady Tigers beat Southern, 7-0, earlier this season.
“We need to come out tomorrow and make sure we play focused,” said LSU head coach Tony Minnis. “Southern has been improving consistently and has made NCAA Tournament for the last several years.”
LSU is on a tear lately, winning six straight matches and shooting up 42 spots in the rankings.
“If we can come through with a win, hopefully it will give us some confidence going into the tournament,” Minnis said. “We need to continue to play with consistency.”
