TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The No. 11 Tigers completed a perfect weekend Sunday with a 6-1 rout of Alabama.
The Tigers (13-3, 5-3 SEC) have won three straight matches heading in to two non-conference contests over their spring break.
“We put it together today,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “We might not have played our absolute best, but we competed the best we have this season. I think we improved as a team this weekend.”
The Tigers won the doubles point with wins on courts No. 2 and No. 3. Ken Skupski and Peter Richman clinched the point with a 9-7 win over Eric Molnar and Mike Green.
LSU notched wins on five singles courts to overwhelm the Tide. Skupski recovered from a tough loss Auburn match with a three-set win over 55th-ranked Stephen Mitchell.
Sebastian Rutka, Cory Ross and Jason Hazley are each on four-match win streaks with their wins.
The Tigers will play three more matches on the road this week, beginning Wednesday when they face 24th-ranked Tulane in New Orleans.
