BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Lindsay Beddow, a senior member of the fifth-ranked LSU gymnastics team, was named to the 2004 SEC Gymnastics Good Works Team it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Beddow, a native of Tampa, Fla., has been involved with numerous volunteer projects throughout the community, including Read Across America and Steve Hood’s Dance for Life, a benefit for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
This fall, Beddow also spent time with the children of DuFrocq Elementary making posters promoting drug free lifestyles, and was a featured guest at the LSU Block and Bridal Club’s annual fundraiser benefiting the LSU Ag Center. In addition, Beddow participated in a local bake sale to raise money for the Christmas Toy Drive, volunteered at LSU’s Bengal Invitational and helped with the beautification of the state capital grounds.
A three-time Academic All-American, Beddow has been a solid contributor to the LSU gymnastics team in each of her four seasons in Baton Rouge. Competing primarily on the bars and beam, she has helped the Tigers to an 11-4 record and a top-five national ranking this season.
