BATON ROUGE — Temeka Johnson, point guard for the LSU Lady Tigers’ basketball team, announced that she will return for her final season of eligibility in 2004- 05 on Sunday prior to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament selection show.
“Being at LSU has made me a better player and a better person,” said Johnson. “But, I am not ready to let it go. I’ve decided to return for another season.”
Johnson, a New Orleans native, enrolled at LSU in 2000-01 as a partial qualifier academically and was forced to sit out her first three semesters at LSU. She successfully appealed to the NCAA to gain an additional year of eligibility and will return for her senior season after breaking every assist record in LSU women’s basketball history in 2003-04.
