BATON ROUGE — LSU’s sixth-ranked gymnastics team closes out the regular season schedule Friday when it travels to Shreveport for a dual meet with Centenary. Action from the Gold Dome will begin at 7 p.m.
The Tigers (10-4, 3-3 SEC) look to extend their four-meet win streak against the Ladies. LSU is coming off a victory over Ohio State in its regular season home finale last Friday, a meet that saw the Tigers tie the second-best team total in school history (197.525).
LSU will not compete any all-arounders and will likely change up its vault lineup in order to rest some of its athletes for next week’s SEC Championships in Duluth, Ga.
Centenary enters the meet with a 5-6 overall record. The Ladies posted a season-best 195.375 two weeks ago against Auburn and are averaging a 192.015 this season.
LSU holds a 19-1 all-time series lead over Centenary, a mark that includes a 5-1 record at the Gold Dome. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season as the Tigers defeated the Ladies, 196.500-190.200, Jan. 30 in the Maravich Center.
After the Centenary meet, the Tigers will return to action, March 20, at the SEC Championships. Action from the Gwinnett Center will begin at 6 p.m. (CST).
