KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The third-ranked LSU softball team’s doubleheader against 13th-ranked Tennessee scheduled to begin at noon (CST) was rained out due to heavy rains in the area Friday night.
The Tigers and Vols will now play just two games this weekend, a doubleheader on Sunday, March 7. The first game will start at 10 a.m. with game two following immediately after.
This shortened series marks the second time in three years that LSU’s series with Tennessee has been shortened due to weather. In 2002, the Tigers split a doubleheader with the Lady Vols in Knoxville in a two-game series.
