BATON ROUGE — The LSU soccer program will hold its first alumni game and will also have a special soccer game for members of the Baton Rouge media on Saturday at the LSU Soccer Complex.
“This is a very special weekend because we get to see our alumni and get everyone back together and have a great time,” said LSU co-head coach George Fotopoulos. “We also want our girls to face some good players in live action.”
The day begins with the media game at 10 a.m. featuring members of the LSU Daily Reveille, LSU Gumbo, Tiger Weekly, and WBRZ Channel 2. Current members of the LSU team will instruct the media and interact with them.
The alumni game will begin at noon as the current team will face former LSU players. Several alumni such as Ashley Mitnick, Mandy Heintz, Rikki Johnson, and Melissa Shelton will be in attendance. The game will be run just like a normal collegiate contest with 45-minute halves. Concession stands will be open and there will be refreshments for the media.
