BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Lady Tigers basketball team remained 15th in the Associated Press poll and moved up three spots to No. 14 in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA poll after defeating Ole Miss and falling to then-No. 2 Tennessee last week.
LSU (22-6, 10-4 SEC) received 461 points in the AP poll to stay put, while drawing 424 points in the coaches poll to move up from last week’s 17th-place ranking.
The Lady Tigers, the defending Southeastern Conference Tournament champions, enter Thursday’s SEC Tournament as the No. 2 seed and received a bye in the first round. LSU will play the winner of Thursday’s first round game between No. 7 seed Ole Miss and No. 10 seed Alabama on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn., at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in the second round.
The Lady Tigers defeated Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Tennessee in the 2003 SEC Tournament to claim the title. LSU was also the No. 2 seed in last year’s tournament.
