METAIRIE, La. — The inaugural Wally Pontiff, Jr. Baseball Classic between No. 1-ranked LSU and Southeastern Louisiana at Zephyr Field has been postponed due to the threat of inclement weather predicted for the area through Wednesday evening.
The game has been rescheduled for April 14 at 7 p.m. Parking lots surrounding Zephyr Field will not open until 5 p.m. due to a previously scheduled event earlier that day.
Tickets for the originally scheduled game will be honored on the rescheduled date. Tickets are also still available by calling the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at 985-549-5466, through the Zephyr Field Ticket Office (504-734-5155) or through all TicketMaster outlets.
Southeastern (3-0) returns to action this weekend with a three-game series against Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Game times are 6:30 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
LSU (6-1, No. 1 Collegiate Baseball, No. 3 Baseball America, No. 5 ESPN/USA Today) hosts Texas State this weekend at Alex Box Stadium. Game times for that series are 6:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and noon on Sunday.
The Tigers and Lions will meet in a three-game series in Baton Rouge March 12-14.
