BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Lady Tigers’ basketball team, coming off a 82-62 victory over South Carolina on Sunday, moved up to No. 14 in this week’s Associated Press poll released by the media organization on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers (17-3, 5-1 SEC) received 589 points and climbed one spot, up from last week’s No. 15 ranking. LSU sits in second place in the Southeastern Conference, a game behind Tennessee for the top spot.
Despite the victory, LSU fell one spot in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA poll to No. 16, receiving 397 points. The Lady Tigers were No. 15 in the coaches poll last week and despite the 20-point victory over the Gamecocks, moved down to 16th in the rankings.
The Lady Tigers hit the road for a two-game road swing through the state of Alabama this week, first visiting Tuscaloosa on Thursday to face Alabama at 7 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum and then battling No. 19 Auburn on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.
