Men’s Tennis Opens Dual Season With Home Doubleheader

BATON ROUGE — The 17th-ranked LSU men’s tennis teams begins its dual match season Saturday, hosting Southern Miss at 1 p.m. and Southern at 5 p.m.

“Southern Miss has a solid team,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “Southern has gone to the NCAAs the last couple of years. Coach (Jeff) Conyers has done a good job.”

LSU’s 33rd-ranked Ken Skupski will make his home debut Saturday. The freshman from Liverpool, England beat four ranked opponents this fall.

Bryan Fisher and Jason Hazley, LSU’s 35th-ranked doubles team, will lead the Tigers in doubles. Fisher and Hazley are fresh off a semifinal appearance in the SEC Indoor Tournament. They reached the semifinals by knocking of Georgia’s No. 5-ranked duo of Bo Hodge and John Isner.

“The team has been practicing extremely well and they are ready to compete,” said Brown, who begins his seventh dual-match season at LSU this weekend. “We’re excited to get started.”
