Cohen Named to the 2003 Women’s Soccer All-America Team

BATON ROUGE — Rachel Cohen, a member of the LSU soccer team, was officially named to the 2003 Women’s Soccer All-America Team this week, it was announced by the 2004 Jewish Sports Review.

“I am very happy for Rachel that she received this award and that she was able to earn it three times in her career,” said LSU co-head coach George Fotopoulos. “I know we want to place more importance on team goals and results, but this is still a great individual honor for a very special individual in our program.”

Cohen, a native of Lafayette, La., was named an All-American by the Jewish Sports Review for the third time in her career and for the third-straight season. Cohen started 17 games in 2003, scoring five goals and adding four assists for a total of 14 points. Cohen capped a successful career with a three-goal performance versus Southern in her final collegiate game on Nov. 2 in a 9-0 win. LSU finished with a 10-9-1 mark this past season.
