BATON ROUGE — LSU’s 14th-ranked gymnastics team will take a break from SEC action this Friday when it welcomes Centenary and Texas Woman’s to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for a 7 p.m. tri-meet.

Fans are encouraged to visit local Winn-Dixie stores as the supermarket chain has teamed with the LSU Athletic Department to provide fans with free tickets to Friday night’s meet.

The Tigers (2-3, 0-2 SEC) look to build on the positive momentum created from last week’s season-best 196.750 performance against current No. 1 Alabama. LSU recorded season-high event totals on three of the four events, while tying its season-high on the other against the Crimson Tide.

Head coach D-D Breaux doesn’t anticipate making many changes to the lineup this week as she was pleased with last week’s performances.

“We are still looking for consistency,” said Breaux. “We liked what we saw last week so we likely won’t make any huge adjustments, but we will tweak a few things and really use our exhibition performances in order to develop the depth that we need.”

The Tigers have been led by sophomore all-arounder April Burkholder who currently ranks seventh in the nation on the vault, ninth on the floor and 14th in the all-around.

Burkholder, who scored a perfect 10.0 on the floor for the second time in her career against Alabama, became just the second LSU athlete to ever record two perfect marks on the event.

Centenary enters the meet with a 3-1 overall record and is coming off a 190.600-185.550 win over Winona State. LSU holds a 19-1-0 all-time advantage over the Ladies, including a perfect 12-0 mark at the PMAC.

Texas Woman’s, 2-9 on the season, is coming off a season-best 192.200 performance in the TWU Quad Meet. The Tigers are a perfect 5-0 against the Pioneers all-time.

Following the tri-meet, LSU will hit the road, traveling to Fayetteville, Ark., for a meet with 11th-ranked Arkansas, Feb. 6.
