BATON ROUGE — LSU will play its second doubleheader of the week Wednesday when Louisiana Tech and Southern come to the W.T. Robinson Stadium.
The Lady Tigers are off to a 2-0 start in the dual match season after beating Centenary and Louisiana-Lafayette this past weekend.
“We just need to come out prepared,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “We are playing with some momentum coming into this match and we need to keep it going.”
The Lady Tigers won all five of their doubles matches over the weekend. In singles play, senior Rocio Fantilli and sophomore Marina Chiarelli both lost just one game in two matches each.
The Lady Tigers have not lost a match to a Louisiana team since 1994, but they are not taking anyone lightly.
“Tech has improved their program a lot in the last two or three years and Southern made it to the NCAA tournament last year,” Minnis said.
The Louisiana Tech match begins at 2 p.m. and the Southern match follows at 5 p.m.
