BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Lady Tigers basketball team moved up two spots to No. 12 in this week’s Associated Press poll and one spot to 13th in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA poll, released on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Tigers (15-2, 3-0 SEC), who have won 13 straight games and sit a half game out of first-place in the Southeastern Conference behind Tennessee, received 609 points in the AP poll and are as high as they have been in the rankings since the preseason ranking of ninth.
LSU jumped one spot in the coaches poll to 13th with 497 points and it is also the highest ranking since the preseason No. 10 ranking the Lady Tigers received from the coaches.
The Lady Tigers will attempt to defend their rankings and their winning streak on Thursday when they visit Fayetteville, Ark., to battle Arkansas at 7 p.m. CST in Bud Walton Arena.
