No. 14 Lady Tigers Put 13-Game Win Streak on Line at UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. — LSU’s 14th-ranked Lady Tigers basketball team takes its 13-game win streak on a road trip when they visit Kentucky on Sunday at 1 p.m. CST (please note time change from schedule) in a Southeastern Conference tilt in Memorial Coliseum.

The Lady Tigers (14-2, 2-0 SEC) begin a three-game road swing with the Wildcats (8-7, 0-2 SEC). LSU is coming back-to-back conference victories at home, including a 74-59 win over Florida on Thursday night that was led by sophomore Seimone Augustus’ career-high 28 points and 12 rebounds.

Kentucky has dropped both its conference games, including at home to Georgia 74-53 on Thursday night.

Augustus leads LSU into the game. The 6-1 guard from Baton Rouge is averaging 16.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game and has scored in double figures in seven straight games, while senior guard Doneeka Hodges is averaging 15.0 points and has reached double digits in nine straight contests.

Senior center SeSe Helm leads Kentucky into the game. She is averaging 15.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per outing.

This will be the 26th meeting between the two schools. LSU leads the series 18-7, including six straight victories. The Lady Tigers also hold a 6-3 advantage in games played in Lexington. LSU won last year’s meeting, 82-39, on Jan. 16 in Baton Rouge.

After Sunday’s game, LSU will travel to Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark., to take on Arkansas on Thursday at 7 p.m. CST.
