BATON ROUGE — Seventeen LSU baseball games are scheduled to be telecast during the 2004 regular season by Cox Sports Television, the Jumbo Sports Network and SEC-TV.
Televised games are available on affiliates throughout Louisiana and the southeastern United States. More games may be added to the TV schedule during the season. Fans are advised to check local listings for network TV affiliates in their area.
The 2004 Tigers, ranked No. 2 by Baseball America, begin pre-season practice at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Alex Box Stadium. Third-year coach Smoke Laval, the 2003 SEC Coach of the Year, welcomes back eight starting position players and seven pitchers from last season’s club, which won the SEC title and advanced to the College World Series.
All LSU baseball practices are open to the public.
The Tigers will participate in an exhibition game against an Alumni team of former LSU players on Friday, January 30, at 6:30 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium. The regular season begins on Friday, February 13, when LSU faces UCF in Orlando, Fla., in Game 1 of a three-game series.
The Tigers’ first televised contest is Game 2 of the UCF series (Feb. 14), which is scheduled for a Noon CST start on the Jumbo Sports Network.
LSU’s regular-season home opener is on Wednesday, February 18, at 3 p.m. when the Tigers play host to Louisiana-Monroe in Alex Box Stadium.
