BATON ROUGE – “Return to Glory: LSU’s Championship Season,” the official book commemorating LSU’s football national championship, is now available in bookstores and online.
Produced by the sports department of The Times Picayune in New Orleans, this book commemorates LSU’s run to the national championship game, a 21-14 victory over Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. This 160-page collector’s item is the definitive look at LSU’s championship season.
Included in the book are more than 100 color photos and complete coverage of every game of the Tigers’ championship year, including 24 pages of coverage from the Sugar Bowl. Also featured are profiles of head coach Nick Saban and numerous standout LSU players, a tribute to late Tiger coaching great Charlie McClendon, and a special look back at LSU’s 1958 championship season.
The book was published by Sports Publishing L.L.C., a company based out of Champaign, Illinois, that has produced an acclaimed line of books to celebrate the achievements of championship teams from major sports like college football and basketball, Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Hockey League, and the National Basketball Association.
“We’re pleased that we have been able to team up with The Times Picayune and Sports Publishing to provide LSU fans with this outstanding record of the 2003 football season,” said LSU athletics director Skip Bertman. “This is a first-class publication that fans will enjoy adding to their LSU collection.”
The book is available in both hardcover ($29.95) and trade paperback ($19.95) editions and can be ordered 24-hours-a-day by calling toll-free 1-877-424-BOOK (2665), or online at LSUsports.net or www.SportsPublishingLLC.com.
