ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Lady Tigers will kick off their spring season this weekend at the University of Michigan’s Invitational.
Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Georgia Tech will all play hidden dual matches against the Lady Tigers.
“This should be really good for us,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “It’s our first dual-type match of the year and we’re playing against some top competition.”
The Lady Tigers ended a strong fall tournament season in November. This marks the last spring season for LSU’s Rocio Fantilli, the 16th-ranked player in the Southwest, according to the ITA’s most recent poll. Fantilli will be joined by teammates Amanda Mang and Marina Chiarelli, who were ranked No. 27 and No. 31, respectively, in the Southwest.
Fantilli was also ranked No. 3 in doubles with Lauren Seaman.
LSU begins doubles play tomorrow against Georgia Tech at 1 p.m. and singles against Michigan at 2:30 p.m.
