Former Tiger Dupree Picked Up by the Chicago Bulls

CHICAGO — The Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association announced Wednesday that the club has signed Ronald Dupree, the former LSU star forward, to a 10-day contract and that he was scheduled to be in uniform Wednesday night when the Bulls took on the Heat in Miami.

Dupree had been playing for the National Basketball Development League’s Huntsville Flight.

Dupree joins Chicago after starring in 15 games with the Flight where he averaged a team high 16.9 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game and 32.3 minutes per game, while shooting 55.6 percent form the floor and 76.3 percent from the free-throw line. Among NBDL leaders, Dupree currently ranks third in scoring, fifth in steals per game and sixth in field goal percentage.

In his final appearance with the Flight, Dupree scored a season high 33 points (15-20 FG, 1-1 3 pt FG, 2-4 FT) with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 44 minutes. In his last four games, Dupree has averaged 23.8 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Dupree finished his eligibility with the LSU Tigers in 2003 and was a three-time member of the All-SEC team.
