NEW ORLEANS — LSU’s 17th-ranked Lady Tigers travel down I-10 for the final non-conference road game of the season when they face rival Tulane on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in New Orleans Arena.
The Lady Tigers (10-2) ride an eight-game win streak into the game, while Tulane (5-5) is coming off a third-place finish in their own tournament this past weekend.
LSU defeated Florida 75-68 on Saturday morning in Atlanta as part of the Russell Athletic Shootout in Philips Arena. The Lady Tigers have not lost since Nov. 21 at Penn State.
Seimone Augustus leads LSU into the game. The sophomore from Baton Rouge is averaging 15.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while the Lady Tigers’ two seniors Temeka Johnson and Doneeka Hodges, both New Orleans natives, are averaging 13.8 points and 14.3 points per outing respectively.
Lakeitha Hampton leads Tulane into the game with 13.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
This will be the 25th meeting between the two schools. LSU leads the series 21-3, including a 9-3 series lead in games played in New Orleans. This is the first game LSU will play in New Orleans Arena and the second straight game the Lady Tigers will play in an NBA arena, having played Florida State on Saturday in Philips Arena in Atlanta.
Following the game, LSU will return to Baton Rouge to host Arizona on Jan. 4 at noon in the final non-conference game of the season.
