RE: LSU’s Post-season Bowl Plans
As we prepare to wrap up the football regular season, we’re looking with great anticipation to the post-season and the excitement that comes with contending for championships.
This past Monday was the deadline for season ticket holders to apply for tickets to the SEC Championship Game and LSU’s post-season bowl appearance. The Tigers must beat Arkansas on Friday to win the SEC Western Division title and earn a berth in the SEC title game, but Tiger fans have already applied to purchase over 16,000 tickets to that game.
We have found that e-mail correspondence is the best way to stay in contact with our fans, so season ticket holders will be notified by e-mail about the status of their applications. If LSU qualifies for the SEC title game on Friday, ticket holders will receive a notification by e-mail by Monday to let them know if they will receive tickets to the game and how many they will be allotted. Tickets would be delivered by UPS from the ticket office on Monday and Tuesday.
We will learn on Sunday, December 7, where the Tigers will play in a post-season bowl game. At that time we will be able to determine how tickets will be distributed.
There were no limits placed on the number of tickets for which a season ticket holder could request. But please remember that if the demand for tickets exceeds the number of tickets allotted to LSU, we must use the limits outlined in the priority system listed in the Post-season Ticket Order Form.
My thanks to everyone who ordered tickets to LSU’s post-season games. It is because of each of you that LSU has earned the reputation of having a strong traveling fan base. That kind of reputation makes LSU attractive to bowl scouts and the networks that televise those games.
This has been an exciting season for LSU fans everywhere and there are greater things to come. All of us at LSU look forward to seeing you in Tiger Stadium on Friday, and wherever the Tigers may travel in the post-season.
