BATON ROUGE — With the opening of the 2003-04 LSU men’s basketball season on Friday night, Tiger season ticket holders can begin to enjoy the latest technology in athletic ticketing with the unveiling of a new e-ticketing program.
LSU is introducing this optional new e-ticket program for men’s basketball and baseball for the upcoming seasons. This technology, which puts an entire season’s tickets on a single credit card-sized e-card, brings a world of features to Tiger basketball and baseball fans.
“This new technology is the direction that athletic ticketing is going in the future,” said LSU athletic ticket manager Brian Broussard. “We’re excited to be able to offer it to our fans because the flexibility and convenience it brings to our season ticket holders is tremendous. With so many home games in our basketball and baseball seasons, some fans cannot attend every game. This technology will keep their tickets from going to waste and help us put more people into the stands.”
This optional program allows season ticket holders to eliminate their paper tickets for the entire season, and also gives them the option to sell or transfer individual game tickets online if they will not be able to attend a game.
Fans looking for tickets to individual games will then be able to access these tickets online, shop for the best seats in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center using a seat locator tool online, purchase the tickets online and print the tickets on their own computer printer.
When fans present the tickets at the gate, ticket takers simply scan a bar code printed on the tickets. Security features built into the system prohibit the use of multiple copies of the same ticket.
