BATON ROUGE — LSU women’s golf coach Karen Bahnsen announced Tuesday that she has received the letters-of-intent from two golfers for the 2004-05 season.
The Lady Tiger signees are Rebecca Kuhn of Miami, Fla., and Kimberly Meck of Austin, Texas.
Kuhn, from Miami’s Palmetto Senior High is currently ranked 33rd in the Golfweek/Sagarin Golf Rankings. In the last two years, she has posted seven rounds under par, earning honors as a Future Collegians World Tour All-American in 2002 and the All-Dade Girls Golf Player of the Year for 2002-03. Kuhn has been a lifelong golfer, playing her first competitive tournament at the age of three.
Meck is an honor student at Westwood High School and has a USGA golf handicap of .01. She was the winner of the 2002 Texas Regional Golf Championship, beating a field of 82 players. She also won the Junior World Qualifier for the state of Texas with a score of three-under par 69.
“We are very pleased with these two additions to our women’s golf program,” said LSU Coach Karen Bahnsen. “Both have the athletic skills and the academic values to enhance our program and our university. We look forward to them having great senior years at their schools and we can’t wait to welcome them to our program next year.”
