BATON ROUGE — The LSU soccer team received the prestigious NSCAA Team Academic Award for having a grade point average of at least 3.0 based on the 2002-03 school year, it was announced on Tuesday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
“This is truly a great honor for our entire team because it shows everyone how hard our team worked in the classroom last year,” said LSU head coach George Fotopoulos. “We are honored to win this award and I am very proud of our girls for this.”
The Tigers maintained a 3.12 gpa during the 2002-03 school year.
The awards will be presented at the College Coaches Luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, as part of the 57th Annual NSCAA Convention, to be held in Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 14-18, 2004.
